Social Care Death in Service Scheme

Social Care Death in Service Scheme

As you are aware Scottish Ministers published details of the Coronavirus social care worker death in service payment scheme on 30 July 2020. The scheme provides a one-off payment of £60,000 to dependents or next of kin of a social care worker who has died in service as a result of, or the suspected result of, contracting COVID-19 at work.

In considering applications, Scottish Government has realised that the process was not working as efficiently as they had hoped and have therefore been working to improve the guidance and claim process for any future applications.

Please see below a link to the new Death in Service claim process, please feel free to circulate it to your networks.
