Displaced Worker Recruitment Events 2026-27

Displaced Worker Recruitment Events 2026-27

Scottish Care, CCPS, COSLA and Osborne and Allan are pleased to invite Scottish social care providers to participate in a series of upcoming social care recruitment events.

Events are planned throughout Scotland and England across 2026 to early 2027, with the first scheduled to take place in Glasgow in September. Recognising the challenges associated with workforce planning and social care recruitment we are seeking expressions of interest for these events with no obligation to participate should circumstances change. We encourage employers to indicate all events they would be interested in attending.

Together these events will pre-screen the strongest candidates from over 1500 Displaced Workers in Scotland and England. Participating employers must be able to meet the below criteria:

  • Currently hold a sponsorship license.
  • Have at least 3 vacancies
  • Be able to attend events in person and interview candidates on the day with a view to offering employment following the event.
  • Provide detail of the post requirements including; gender (if appropriate), driving license requirements, service type, vacancy details and any specialist requirements pertaining to post.

Selected providers will have the opportunity to meet candidates through structured workshops and take part in same‑day interviews. Previous events have shown positive outcomes for both candidates and employers, with high levels of candidate attendance and offers of employment resulting in around 70% of candidates taking up post.

“The Newcastle event was extremely well organised and a really positive experience. Being able to shortlist candidates in advance meant our managers could focus on meeting people who were genuinely interested in working with us. We brought along one of our existing sponsored workers, which made a real difference. Candidates could hear first-hand about working for Care Solutions, relocating to Scotland and living in our local area, helping them feel more comfortable and confident about the opportunity. The support we received both before and after the event, particularly with the visa process, was excellent. We successfully recruited three fantastic people who have settled in incredibly well and are now making a real difference by delivering excellent care and support”

Candidates have all held recent social care employment and are keen to find new opportunities within the Scottish social care sector for which they would be happy to relocate. We are delighted to have a high number of candidates who are car drivers.

Financial assistance will be made available to employers for reasonable travel and accommodation costs for events taking place in England. In addition, support will be provided to employers to expedite the CoS application process for recruitment linked to these events.

To secure your place, please complete the Expression of Interest form using the link provided. Early submission is recommended as capacity is limited and demand is expected to be high.
