In November 2024, Scottish Care issued the position statement: Barriers to the Provision of Residential Accommodation. This outlined a variety of issues preventing timely admission to, and payment for, residential and/or nursing care support services.

Since the publication of this and the latest Charging for Residential Accommodation Guidance (2025), Scottish Care has been further engaged in this workstream to improve the efficacy and timeliness of care home resident’s admission and underlying funding.

Our webinar will update members on the progression of such advocacy and outline the latest developments regarding best practice and statutory entitlements. This includes the following:

• Providers’ eligibility to additional payments/top-ups.
• Providers’ financial assessment of self-funding/additional payment funded residents.
• Providers’ recourse for budget and fee setting arrangements.

Please note that this webinar will not directly cover the cost-model adjoined to the NCHC, which will be discussed with members as negotiations progress.
