I am Rachel Payne, Managing Director and part owner at Bandrum Nursing Home in Fife. We look after 88 vulnerable, adults who are 21 years old and above over our 2 care homes. The business is family run, with Mum buying the first home in 1984, and we have always had a focus on family. I practically grew up in the care home. I worked in the office and enjoyed doing activities with our residents while completing my Business Information and Management Degree before joining fulltime, then becoming Operations Director in 2010 and becoming Managing Director in 2020
I am the Scottish Care Fife Branch Chair for both Care Homes and Care at Home. I sit on the International Employers Workgroup, am the Strategic lead for the Wellbeing workgroup and sit on many more local groups. I have been on the Scottish Care executive board since 2022 and am delighted to have recently taken up role as the Vice Chair.
I am passionate about providing the very best care at Bandrum and believe to do that we have to be constantly learning and adapting to new practices. We also have to look after our staff/the workforce in the best way possible – we have a focus on healthy working lives and wellbeing. I am also passionate about representing providers/staff and residents across the wider sector
