Events & Partnerships Manager

Commercial

I began my career in social care as a carer, supporting individuals living with dementia in care homes. That early experience had a lasting impact on me and continues to shape how I think about the importance of rights-based, relationship-centred support.

After university, I moved into retail management, where I developed a strong foundation in customer service, team management and delivering a high-quality customer experience. My time as Head Concierge in a five-star hotel then further strengthened my focus on relationship building, anticipating individual and organisational needs, and creating memorable experiences for guests.

I moved into events and partnership management within a major football stadium, where I hosted corporate, private and large-scale international events while building and maintaining strong client relationships. This role had a strong commercial focus, allowing me to develop skills in client retention, account management, and growing repeat business through positive, long-term partnerships.

I was delighted to return to the social care sector when I joined Scottish Care in 2018. In my role, I lead on commercial partnerships, national events, and supplier engagement. This includes securing and managing a diverse portfolio of Commercial Partners, developing bespoke opportunities, and ensuring partners are fully engaged and receiving meaningful value from their involvement with Scottish Care while providing tangible benefits for our membership.

A key part of my role is planning and delivering our flagship conferences, exhibitions and awards, which bring the sector together to share learning, recognise excellence, and celebrate the incredible work happening across Scotland. These events create important opportunities for connection, collaboration and innovation across the sector.

I’m passionate about building strong, trusted relationships and creating opportunities that genuinely make a difference. What drives me most is knowing that I’m playing a small part in supporting the people and services at the heart of social care.
