This informative session is designed for providers and managers who wish to develop their understanding of the Complaints about the Care Inspectorate function and how complaints are managed. The webinar will include a presentation followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Topics covered will include:
- Care Inspectorate complaints data for 2025/26
- The complaints handling model
- The complaints process
- Common complaint themes and organisational learning
- Understanding scrutiny processes and how they can be used to minimise complaints
The session aims to increase participants’ confidence in using existing scrutiny processes, such as inspection feedback and engagement with inspectors, to address concerns before they develop into formal complaints.
A copy of the presentation slides will be shared with attendees after the session.
Presenter
John Elliott is Manager for Complaints about the Care Inspectorate. Having worked for the Care Inspectorate for 14 years, John has extensive experience investigating complaints about registered care services, supporting professional development programmes, and leading the Complaints about the Care Inspectorate function.
