Support and resources for managers

Managers have an important role to play in supporting the health and wellbeing of their staff. Listed on this page are some resources that will provide you with information and advice to support the members of your team.

National Wellbeing Hub
The hub provides advice on self-care and personal resilience to help users to recognise their own ‘warning signs’.There is also a comprehensive collection of resources for managers to help them to support their teams.

Wellbeing conversations
A wellbeing conversation is a supportive, one to one chat that focuses on a person’s health and wellbeing. The chat helps to identify areas where support maybe needed and signposts to that support.

Wellness Action Plans (WAPs)
An easy and practical way of helping you to support the mental health of your team members.

Going home checklist
To help staff successfully switch off this checklist can be used to encourage reflection and mindfulness at the end of a working day.

Public Health Scotland has produced animations to start the conversation and show all staff how to support people who may be experiencing mental distress.
