Scottish Care Wins Workforce Award at Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards
Scottish Care is delighted to have won the Workforce North Award for Innovative Approaches to Talent Attraction and Development at the 2026 Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on Thursday 10 September, celebrating the contribution of businesses and organisations from across the Highlands and Islands.
The win recognises the work led by Laura Dobinson, Scottish Care’s Independent Sector Career & Attraction Lead in Highland, to promote careers in social care and strengthen pathways into the sector.
The achievement also reflects the involvement of care providers across the Highlands who have opened their doors to students, attended careers events, offered work experience and apprenticeship opportunities, and shared their experiences to encourage more people to consider careers in care.
Laura celebrated the occasion alongside local care providers and colleagues, including Gwen Harrison, Scottish Care’s Independent Sector Lead for North Highland.
This award is an important recognition of the collaboration taking place across the Highlands to raise the profile of social care careers, create stronger routes into the workforce and support the future sustainability of the sector.
