Airthrey Care Home – World Cup Street Party

Airthrey Care Home Scores Big With a World Cup Street Party to Remember!

Airthrey Care Home brought World Cup magic to Airth as residents, families, and neighbours gathered for a lively street party celebrating Scotland’s long‑awaited return to the global stage after 28 years.

To keep things firmly on theme, staff invited former Falkirk and Motherwell favourite Martyn Corrigan to kick off the festivities. His arrival sparked cheers, selfies, and plenty of football nostalgia — the perfect start to a day bursting with community spirit.

Last year’s VE Day 80 celebration had created such a warm, unforgettable atmosphere that the Airthrey team knew they had to recreate that buzz. And what better excuse than Scotland stepping back into World Cup action?

Sure, the Scottish skies didn’t quite match the blazing heat of Boston — where the national squad was gearing up to face Haiti — but the drizzle didn’t dampen a single smile. Crowds turned out in force to enjoy games, entertainment, music, and a feast of refreshments.

The laughter was loud, the flags were flying, and the sense of togetherness was unmistakable.

And the best part? All funds raised are being shared between Airthrey Care Home, the Airth community, and Age Scotland, helping support older people across the country long after the final whistle.

A celebration of football, friendship, and giving back — a true hat‑trick.
