What a wonderful celebration of Philippine Independence Day at Abercorn House!
This week Abercorn House Care Home was filled with music, laughter, delicious food, and a true sense of community as residents, families, and staff came together to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the Philippines.
The home were delighted to welcome a talented Filipina Scottish young singer, Cristina, who serenaded everyone with a beautiful selection of classic favourites loved by our residents, alongside heartfelt Filipino songs that brought smiles, memories, and happiness.
Abercorn wants to say a huge thank you to their amazing Filipino staff who lovingly prepared an incredible feast for everyone to enjoy. The menu included Chicken Adobo, Beef Tapa, Pork Tocino, Chicken Pastil, Filipino Spaghetti, Lumpiang Shanghai, Pancit Canton, Fried Rice, Filipino Siomai, and freshly baked Pandesal. To finish, we enjoyed an array of delicious desserts including Leche Flan, Maja Blanca, Ube Cake, and Mocha Cake.
The celebration was more than just food and music- it was a wonderful opportunity to share traditions, create lasting memories, and bring people together as one Abercorn family.
