Used to say leader of men and a manager of circumstance  (but that was 20 years ago) , retired in 2003 , having spent most of my career operating, designing  or building mobile phone networks took me all over the world. Now involved  across  a range of local or near local organisations. I am the chair of the volunteer board of Bankfoot Care Home in Moffat, ( as a board we are very much “hands on “),  a 25 room  charity based not for profit organisation just celebrated  60 years of operation. We are very much unique as a care home, but are very much part of the local community . In these interesting times we need to be better connected across the sector, otherwise we are very lone voice in the wilderness.
