Lynda Wright is an experienced Health and Social Care professional with 15 years of expertise spanning service development, policy, commissioning and support for adults and unpaid carers. She began her career as a solicitor before moving into the Health and Social Care sector where she has since held operational and strategic roles. Lynda previously worked as a Service Manager within the British Red Cross for four years where she was responsible for overseeing Health and Social Care services and volunteers within Argyll and Bute. She then moved to Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership where she worked in Social Work Adult Services as a Development Officer managing the Short Breaks Bureau and commissioning respite services. During her time there she implemented a new booking management system and worked closely with the Carers Centre. In 2021 she progressed within Falkirk HSCP to become Project Development Manager, managing the team responsible for Self Directed Support (SDS), respite and unpaid carer support. At Falkirk her remit included policy development, particularly in relation to SDS and the Carers Act as well as commissioning respite and SDS contractual work. She has experience of managing and monitoring direct payments and contracts under SDS Option 1 & 2 including due diligence checks and risk management. She was also involved in establishing the local Carers Eligibility Criteria as well as reviewing the Adult Services Eligibility Criteria. While working within Adult Services Lynda was a member of the monthly resource allocation panels providing budget approvals for care packages. Lynda has also contributed to national policy through her work with Scottish Government Policy teams, particularly around the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and the Care Reform (Scotland) Act 2025. In 2025 she completed a postgraduate Diploma with distinction in Applied Professional Studies at the University of Stirling with a focus on Leadership and Management, Adult Services, Support and Protection and Self Directed Support.
What are you currently working on


In her current role Lynda works alongside local partners, independent sector care providers and national stakeholders to support service improvement and development. The role is part of the Partners for Integration project therefore involves informing, engaging with and supporting providers so that they can be equal partners in Health and Social Care Integration. Lynda collaborates with colleagues across Scottish Care and partners within North Lanarkshire to support care at home and care providers as well as exploring development and partnership opportunities. One of the ways she does this is through her involvement in the Strategic Engagement and Planning Working Group. Lynda is also part of the Care Home Collaborative and supports Care Homes to further embed and continue to work towards the aims within the Healthcare Framework. She also supports a sector specific programme of training and development opportunities, helping to identify new opportunities for partnership working as well as any training gaps or requirements. Lynda’s role also includes facilitating information, advice and guidance for independent sector care providers. This is achieved through sharing monthly updates and jointly holding Care Home Managers meetings with North Lanarkshire’s HSCP Quality Assurance Team to provide opportunities for sharing learning and practice as well as identifying area for development and collaboration. Lynda is relatively new to post in November 2025 and is keen to engage with care providers in North Lanarkshire, particularly care at home providers.
Future Plans ,Areas of Work and Upcoming Events 


Lynda’s work will continue to focus on improving support for care providers and care homes to ultimately improve outcomes for those in receiving health and social care services. She is working with care homes across Lanarkshire on a gap analysis for the Care Home Collaborative and Healthcare Framework. There is likely to be a Lanarkshire Care Home Collaborative event during 2026 which she will be also involved in. There is currently some scoping work being done around working with the independent sector on a potential initiative for supporting hospital discharge and admission avoidance which is likely to be a future area of development. Lynda will remain committed to strengthening collaboration across the sector and supporting care providers.
