I have worked in Health and Social Care for almost 40 years now. My career has spanned working in both England and Scotland and across the Third, Independent and Statutory sectors. I have honed my skills, knowledge and experience from holding a wide range of roles starting as a frontline social care worker in Children’s, Adults and Older Persons Services to that of holding large portfolios as a Service Manager and Head of Service. In previous roles I have held responsibilities as project sponsor for the redesign of capital build projects of Care Homes, Day Centre’s and also that of whole service redesign such as Care at Home, Supported Living, Learning Disabilities, others.
My previous role responsibilities held medium to large portfolios across Integrated Health and Social Care services, leading on workforce planning, operational, strategic planning and delivery of regulated care services and more. My career choices have given me fantastic opportunities to work closely within multi-agency, multi-disciplinary settings, developing my communication, collaboration and appreciation of whole system working.
Working with Scottish Care for what is now nearly 7 years in post, has been a great opportunity to build networks through new relationships, collaboration models and developing new approaches to commissioning arrangements. The strength that I bring to the Team and the HSCPs that we support is not just what I have achieved in the past, but the innovations, learning and potential that we are creating for the conditions of transformation, change and sustainability to shape and form.
What are you currently working on
My role is diverse and no day the same. I work collaboratively across all Partners and Sectors. As a Member of the IJB and its committees, I work closely within the Extended Leadership Team of the HSCP and am a Member of their SLT (whole System working). I lead much of the Collaborative Commissioning engagement, working closely with colleagues across systems and sectors and have developed new ways of working, that are embedded within the structural arrangements locally.
My database is extensive providing regular expert advice and information supporting the regulatory landscape of health and social care through enabling continuous improvement, compliance and stability of whole system working. Rather than list the broad range of operational and strategic workstreams that I support some of these key themes are central to my work with Partners and wider stakeholders:
– Prevention and Early Intervention
– Sustainability and Viability
– Adult Support and Protection
– Digital Innovation & Transformation
– Workforce Planning
– International Workforce
– Host and Chair Collaboratives
– Transformation of Care
– Quality Matters & Assurance
– Sector Representation, Participation and Engagement
– Others
There are a range of Projects that have been developed and designed in collaboration with myself and the HSCP that you can get in contact to discuss.
Important to note that the workstreams that are supported in Fife often extend to other HSCP areas with the Partners for Integration Network being a Collaboration of Activity, Connection, Shared Learning leading to Solution Focused Approaches.
