My career in social care began in 1997 when I was appointed as an Information Officer with the Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre in East Ayrshire. Joining the organisation at its inception, I remained there for 17 years, progressing through a range of roles to ultimately become Centre Manager. The Carers Centre was established to provide information, advice, support, training, and social opportunities to family carers of all ages across East Ayrshire. During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in expanding both the reach and impact of the service, ensuring greater accessibility and sustainability.
Joining Scottish Care in 2014 as Project Administrator, I have progressed to my current role which is both demanding and enjoyable in equal measures. In my spare time I am a keen member of Rock Choir Ayrshire and have enjoyed playing in lots of venues, a highlight being the Barrowlands in Glasgow.
