NMC seeks fitness to practise committee panel members

The NMC has launched a recruitment drive to find up to 150 diverse lay panel members and registrant panel members to serve on their fitness to practise committees.

The committee panels make decisions at fitness to practise hearings and meetings about whether a nurse, midwife or nursing associate is fit to practise. Panel members are independent decision-makers who work with the NMC as contractors for a minimum of 15 days per year. Their actions make a considerable difference to professionals and those who raise concerns with the NMC or attend hearings as witnesses.

They are looking to receive applications from as broad a range of people as possible; to ensure that the panel members are representative of the professions the NMC regulate.

More information on this can be found here.

The closing date for applications is 9 April.
