With over 32 years of experience in health and social care, David brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Care at Home Branch Chair – Jenna MacLeod

I’m Jenna MacLeod and I am the registered manager at Premier Healthcare in Helensburgh, based in Argyll and Bute. I have worked at Premier Healthcare since 2009, where I started off as a carer picking up weekends and backshifts around my uni studies. After leaving uni, I stayed on here with encouragement from the owner Dorothy, who is also my mum, and we’ve turned into a mother-daughter double act in here. I became the registered manager in 2021 and when I was asked to become the branch chair for Scottish Care, I found this really helpful and supportive in “finding my feet” as a new manager. Although I’d worked in the sector for 12 or 13 years by that point my whole experience had been with the same company and it was really interesting, beneficial and fun to meet other managers, with other perspectives and who are facing the same challenges as me.

Care at Home Branch Chair – Mike Collier

I am the Director of Cairllum Care in Ayr and Plus Homecare in East Renfrewshire. My wife and I set up the business in 2015 as we wanted to deliver a high-quality care service and we are still driven today to do that. In what is a challenging sector that appears to get more challenging with each year we are still passionate about the people we support, and our staff are at the heart of what we do. This is my second year as Pan-Ayrshire care at home chair and I am still trying to find the best way we can connect with each other to achieve the best for our members. I feel that being part of Scottish Care should give us smaller businesses the support and assistance we often need and I truly believe we are stronger working together for the development of our sector. I would encourage any provider to come along either to an in-person meeting or online.

Care Home Branch Chair – David Booth

Used to say leader of men and a manager of circumstance  (but that was 20 years ago) , retired in 2003 , having spent most of my career operating, designing  or building mobile phone networks took me all over the world. Now involved  across  a range of local or near local organisations. I am the chair of the volunteer board of Bankfoot Care Home in Moffat, ( as a board we are very much “hands on “),  a 25 room  charity based not for profit organisation just celebrated  60 years of operation. We are very much unique as a care home, but are very much part of the local community . In these interesting times we need to be better connected across the sector, otherwise we are very lone voice in the wilderness.

Care Home Branch Chair – Nicola Dow

I am a Care Home Manager with Pacific Care Limited. I started working in care homes at the young age of 17 and instantly fell in love with working with older people.

It is my passion to ensure high quality care is delivered to those we care for at all times as well as share experiences with other care providers so we can make a difference to the wider community of Care Homes and those who live there.

As a Branch Chair I have the opportunity to learn from others and help be the voice to influence change across health and Social Care in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire which will hopefully make a difference to the older adults we are caring for.
