Let’s Talk about Sex…uality and Dementia

8th March 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sexuality as defined by the World Health Organisation should be afforded to all adults; therefore people should not be discriminated against because of their age, condition or care need is.

The taboo of sexuality and ageing is challenging enough without considering what this may come to mean for someone living with dementia, for care workers and for care providers.

Through this event, we want to bring people from across the care and support sector together to discuss some of the key issues and to ensure that a holistic, person centred approach to carefully encompasses a person’s sexuality as an integral part of self.

This event, hosted by Scottish Care in conjunction with partner organisations, will also see the launch of our latest Care Cameo which will focus on the theme of sexuality and dementia. There will be an opportunity throughout the day to hear from a range of speakers and to contribute to this important emerging issue.
