Open University event: Dementia and Decision-Making at the End of Life: How do we support it?
13th June 2017 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Free
There are approximately 90,000 people with dementia currently living in Scotland and this number is increasing. Dementia is a progressive and life limiting condition and the Scottish Government is committed to enabling people with the condition to live well, but to die well too.
This event highlights the role of advance care planning in helping people with dementia to have a good death. Academics and practitioners will discuss what the research evidence says and highlight some of the tools available which can help people to plan more effectively. The event aims to empower people to have those difficult conversations and to prepare for an end of life which meets personal wishes and wellbeing needs.
