Luminate: Christmas Caledonia – 11 December

11th December 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing organisation, is organising a dementia-inclusive, fun and free online Christmas singing event.

Christmas Caledonia will take place on Saturday, December 11, bring a mix of music, song and short films. There will be a musical trio playing live from the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh,  guided through the songs by singing leaders from the Dementia Inclusive Singing Network. But the most important voices will be from those singing in their homes who join across Zoom from wherever they are.

The atmosphere will be joyous, relaxed and patient. As well as carols and other Christmas songs (a lyrics file can be downloaded, plus the songs will be captioned), there will be a filmpoem by Ron Coleman – better known as The Demented Poet – and some special Christmas messages to raise a toast for. The Queen’s Hall will also be decorated using artwork and designs created especially for the event by the Dolphin Arts Project in Ullapool.

The link for more information and booking is here: https://singing.luminatescotland.org/events/christmas-caledonia-come-and-sing/ . The Zoom link and password will be provided once people register with EventBrite. If this way of booking does not suit, people can also either call on 0131 668 8066 or email [email protected]
