Key issues for health and social care integration: commissioning, workforce and partnership development

16th March 2017 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

£210

Guest of Honour

Alison Taylor, Head of Integration Division, The Scottish Government

This seminar assesses the impact of the integration of health and social care on service delivery and considers the next steps for overcoming challenges arising from the integration process.

It takes place following publication of the Scottish Government’s Health and Social Care Delivery Plan, supported by £128 million in 2017/18, which outlines steps that will be taken in order to improve the system, particularly in relation to patient experience and population health – and coincides with the development of new National Health and Social Care Standards, with final standards due to be published in Spring 2017.

Delegates will discuss resource allocation across health and social care and funding within different partnership settings – looking at best practice examples from Scotland and abroad – and the impact of integration on the workforce, particularly with regard to interdisciplinary working, planning and extended staff roles and development.

Further planned sessions will examine what more can be done to engage patients, the independent sector and the third sector as well as priorities for digital and information technologies – with focus being placed on improving data sharing and information governance.
