Fair Work in Social Care – ‘Effective Voice’ Focus Groups

11th May 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Fair Work in Social Care group aims to improve the working experience of those in the adult social care workforce, working together to progress the recommendations already outlined in the Fair Work Convention report, which have also been endorsed by the Independent Review of Adult Social Care.

We have a diverse, experienced and passionate group of representatives on the group, but nothing can replace the importance and value of hearing directly from those who work within the sector. We are sending out some confidential surveys for you to share some views, but are also holding a series of confidential, online focus groups. These focus groups will be discussing your experience of ‘Effective Voice’ (that is, how much influence you have on your day to day working experience) as an employee within the Adult Social Care workforce.

You will have the opportunity to speak directly to officials from Scottish Government and share your experiences of Effective Voice in your workplace, discuss what gets in the way of this, and suggest what you feel would be the biggest improvements in this area for you and your colleague’s.

All contributions are treated in the strictest confidence, and the combined insight from the groups will be used to support the work of the Fair Work in Social Care Group promote and progress the practice of Effective Voice across the sector. The groups will be made up of people from across the sector (approx. 6-10 people per group) and last no more than 60 minutes, supported by officials from Scottish Government, on behalf of the Fair Work in Social Care Group.

The focus groups run from 10 -14 May, if you are interesting in joining please contact [email protected]
