    If you can’t attend the whole event, the strong one day thematic programme will allow you to be part of the event and follow your particular interests. Help us celebrate the European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations by getting research into practice for the benefit of our older population.

    Opening Ceremony: We are delighted to announce that Michael Matheson MSP, Minister for Public Health has accepted our invitation to open the WCAA 2012 Congress in August.

    Michael Matheson MSP was born in Glasgow in 1970 and educated at St John Bosco Secondary School.  He went on to study at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh where he obtained a BSc in Occupational Therapy. He also holds a BA and a Diploma in Applied Social Sciences from the Open University.  Prior to becoming an MSP Michael practised as a Community Occupational Therapist with Stirling Council, Central Regional Council, and Highland Regional Council.

    For the latest updates about WCAA 2012, including the scientific programme and details of the one-day themes, please visit the Congress website. Please note the programme is still provisional at this stage and may be subject to change. Although all the submissions have been reviewed and the presenters informed, there may still be some changes to the programme.
